Online streaming of services offers numerous advantages, especially in modern times when digitalization is becoming increasingly widespread. The first advantage is accessibility; it allows participation for those who, due to illness, age, or other reasons, cannot physically attend the ceremonies. It also facilitates community connection regardless of geographical limitations, as people from different locations can join the same service. Online streams also provide flexibility, as viewers can watch the service at any time if they miss the live broadcast. Lastly, online technology allows churches to reach a broader audience and incorporate interactive elements, such as live chats and digital donations, which encourage active participation and support for the community.
The simple setup involves the use of NDI technology with the existing network. In this case, the PTZOptics NDI camera is used with OBS software, a free program for live video streaming.
The camera is priced from approximately €1,050 (excluding VAT). Cabling is not included in the price. We will use your existing network.
When upgrading to a second or third camera, many churches consider using a PTZ joystick for camera control. This also includes the use of a network switch for Power over Ethernet (PoE), which powers each camera. In this way, we only need to run a single cable to each camera. Through this cable, the camera is powered and sends video to the computer.
Two-camera solution from approximately €3,300 (excluding VAT): 2 x PTZ cameras, camera controller, and network switch. Cabling is not included in the price.
A single-camera broadcast allows for a simple wide-angle view, capturing everything that happens during the service in a single shot. The camera is typically positioned in front of the action. Depending on the architecture of the space, it can be placed accordingly. The camera can be remotely controlled via a computer. The system can be operated by just one person with basic computer knowledge.
A multi-camera broadcast allows for more detailed coverage of the service. With two or more cameras, intermediate camera movements enable both wide shots and close-ups, as well as counter-angles of the church or specific details of the space. This approach makes the broadcast more dynamic and engaging for viewers.
In both cases, we use robotic cameras that allow for remote control via the internet. Both systems can be operated by just one person with basic computer knowledge.
We also offer optional initial system setup and basic training.
We offer a 5-year warranty on all PTZOptics cameras and a 2-year warranty on other equipment.
